Children & Adolescents

There are a number of issues that children and adolescents deal with. These could be separation anxiety, school-refusal, social anxiety, self-harm, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and suicide. Through Cognitive Behavioral and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapies children are taught skills to assist them in dealing with these issues.

Children could further suffer from academic problems or issues that impact on academic performance, such as learning disabilities, dyslexia, speech difficulties, ADHD and so on. These issues can be debilitating to childhood development and early detection is often the reason children with these disabilities thrive in a scholastic environment. Disorders such as ADHD and learning disorders can be managed once diagnosed, allowing children the opportunity to develop at a steady pace. The practice also offers parental guidance for parents with children suffering from childhood disabilities.

Through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) we teach adolescents ways to regulate their emotions more effectively rather than through impulsive and destructive behavior.

Psycho-Educational assessments assist in diagnoses of ADHD, Learning Disabilities, Dyslexia etc.
